Meme as resistance post - Ashley Robinson

The meme I made is to exaggerate about the world we’d be living in if the average person thought what was best for them and their neighbors when they voted. A lot of policies are for rich people and people that are very very different to them, just because they tell it like it is or some other bad reasoning.

Memes can be a powerful way for people to protest and show resistance. They take serious messages and turn them into short, funny, or emotional images and texts that are easy to share online. This helps spread ideas quickly and lets people speak out against injustice, unfair systems, or those in power.

Memes can also use humor or sarcasm to point out problems in society or government. They can make people think, start conversations, or bring attention to issues that might be ignored. In places where it’s dangerous to protest openly, memes can be a safer way to resist and connect with others who feel the same.

Patriarchy is a system where men are seen as superior to everyone else but it can negatively affect men as well if they don’t live up to the stereotypes of what they should be. Activism is like protesting and it’s what people do when they want their voices heard. It shows that people care about an issue so they push it forward in any way. Systems like patriarchy, racism, or classism decide who gets more power, respect, or chances in life. These systems can limit people’s freedoms based on things like gender, race, or money. That’s why activism is important, it helps people fight for fairness and equal rights.

The book shows me that activism isn’t only about protests or laws. It’s also about using art, stories, and feelings to inspire people and help them believe that change is possible. Activism in art can open people’s eyes and bring them together.
