"Ideas and awareness are important. That’s how people change their minds and then take action." (Steve & Steve, 214).
This quote explains how important it is to be aware, once one person changes their mind, and takes action it will cause a domino effect. We all aren't naturally aware, and it comes over time due to factors in the outside world and experiences that we go through.
"There will always be bigots, reactionaries, and extremists. To target them as our audience only absorbs our focus and limits our ideas. Just remember haters gonna hate."(Steve & Steve, 241).
It's important to have thick skin as an activist because people will be against your beliefs. Just treat them like normal haters and don't let their opinions limit your aspirations.
