Corine - Assignment 11/19

Quote 1:

“Persuasion is not about winning an argument; it’s about changing what people see as possible.”

Response:
I like this quote because it reframes activism as expanding imagination, not proving someone wrong. When we shift people’s sense of what could exist, we open them up to new beliefs and actions. It reminds me that performance art can build alternate realities that feel real enough to inspire change.

Quote 2:

“Facts alone rarely change minds. Emotions, stories, and experiences do the real persuasive work.”

Response:
This stood out to me because a lot of activists assume information is enough. But people connect to narratives and feelings, not data. It explains why creative activism, especially performance, can be powerful: it gives people something to feel, not just something to think.
