Why artistic activism?

Quote 1: "Artistic activism is a dynamic practice combining the creative power of arts to mose us emotionally"

Quote 2: "What unties them all is the mobilization of both affect and effect."

Quote 2: ""

Response: The article gives an introduction to activist art as a tool for awareness and engagement.

The most influential works of American protest since WWII:

Quote 1: "Did it change what you think or believe? Must it endure? What is the difference, anyway, between protest art and art that is merely political?"

Quote 2: "I can't imagine ever wanting to be white... that piece became a real lightning rod"

Response: This article shows how protest art can be provocative, "rule breaking" and leave last effects. We judge art through its emotional and even political holds.
